August is the best time of the year for the most significant meteor showers. The meteor show, the Perseid, begins to peak in mid-August. The best chance to see this fantastic “light show” will start during the waning crescent moon, the night of August 11th. The low moonlight offers peak viewing for several hours until dawn on August 12th. This natural phenomenon will continue on August 12 – 13.
