Uninsured women in the Joplin area are encouraged to take part in the free “breast health” 3D mammogram on Thursday, October 15, 2020, from 3:00 PM – 6 PM at the Mercy Hospital Joplin. Early detection is essential.

If you are a woman over the age of 40 and are uninsured or self-pay, join us for a free screening event. Mercy Breast Center Joplin is collaborating with the Breast Cancer Foundation of the Ozarks to provide a time where women can come have a mammogram at Joplin’s only 3D mammogram provider. Additionally, if you have insurance, but your insurance will not cover the full cost of your mammogram, you can also attend for a free screening.

In order to participate, please come to the Mercy Joplin Breast Center in the second-floor gallery of the hospital and fill out an application that will help determine qualification. Patients will then receive a voucher for a free mammogram. Screenings will take place immediately thereafter.

Please refrain from using body powder or deodorant if you are planning on receiving a mammogram.
The Mercy Breast Center uses the latest in 3D mammography technology. Approximately 40% of women have dense breasts, making detecting breast cancer more difficult. With 3D mammography, doctors are able to locate and treat cancer more effectively. The Breast Center’s two 3D machines will be used for this event. See Less
